THE SAT FOLIO
The School Assessed Task (SAT) folio is the major Visual Communication Assessment you will be producing in your Unit 3/4 studies. It accounts for 50% of your total grade. The SAT folio follows the VCD Design process (The Double Diamond Model) and culminates in the production of two finished presentations, normally one primary and one secondary presentation. These presentations are normally a combinations of presentation boards, physical models, videos, styleguides and technical drawings.
DETAILS
The folio will be a total of somewhere between 60-100 pages, depending on the level of detail you include in each page, and how well each page addresses the criteria of the task. It will be presented in an A3 folder, with all pages being either landscape or portrait depending on your own preference.
BACKGROUND
The Double Diamond model, developed by the Design Council (UK) is a widely adopted visual interpretation of a design process in which the connections between expansive thinking and focused action are described. Students of VCE Visual Communication Design apply an iterative design process based on the Double Diamond model, passing through and revisiting the four distinct phases of Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver. In the context of this study, this process is referred to as the VCD design process.
